Acts 5:10
“Immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. When the young men came in they found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband.”

We cannot forget that this couple did not die because they did not give God their money, but they died because they did not give God His glory. Their lust to elevate their name and gain recognition conceived sin in their heart, which birthed death. This may seem harsh, but this is the first instance of the sin of the Pharisees showing up in the early church, and God needed to stop this pride now so that it did not divide The young Church at the beginning.

Ananias and Sapphira clean the outside of the cup, but inside they are full of robbery and self- indulgences. This actually shuts off the Kingdom of heaven from others. The Church is the tool to advance the Kingdom of God, and this couple was suffocating God’s mercy in their life and keeping it from others. Father God, help me to be a servant to all, and to elevate Your name, and not mine. Compel me to proclaim Your Kingdom, and Your mercy, while humbly walking with You today, in JESUS’ NAME, Amen.
