Acts 5:36-37
“For before these days Theudas rose up, claiming to be somebody, and a number of men, about four hundred, joined him. He was killed, and all who followed him were dispersed and came to nothing. After him Judas the Galilean rose up in the days of the census and drew away some of the people after him. He too perished, and all who followed him were scattered.”

Gamaliel is explaining to the leaders of the court that they must be careful with what they do with the Apostles. Both Theudas and Judas (not Iscariot) rose us, gathered crowds and followers, but when they died. Their crowds and followers were scattered and not heard from again. The point is not the uprising of these men, but that in their death it failed. Gamaliel although probably not a believer in Jesus, realizes that

Man’s plans
Always fail
God’s plans
Never fail

There is nothing on earth or under the earth that can thwart the plans of God. His plan is being carried out in this moment, and God is inviting us to join His plans that He put into motion before the foundation of time, and asking us to walk with Him through them. Father God, I know that You have created me for good works, and placed Your purpose in my heart for these good works. Open my eyes to them, give me courage to step with You, and walk into eternity in Your presence, and fulfilling Your purpose, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
