Acts 2:26
“therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced; my flesh also will dwell in hope.”
Peter goes on quoting the OT, and applying it to all those standing and listening then, and all of us reading it now. The original text is speaking of Jesus, the confidence He had in the Father and how it would give Him joy through the cross, and how this is true for all of us. We as followers of Jesus, even though we go through difficult circumstances, and hard situations, we can walk through them with Jesus at our side and joy in our heart and lives. When our heart is glad, our mouths are full of praise and our body walks in hope, this equals the joy of the Lord in our life. If we have unquenchable joy in our heart it should be –
Reflected in our
Countenance
Conversations
And
Conduct
Sometimes we ought to let our facial expressions and language know how joyful our hearts are in Jesus. We of all people should have joy that bubbles out of us no matter what we walk through in this life. Father God, thank You for the gift of Your Spirit with me at all times, and grace to operate from You indwelling power, and the knowledge from Your Word of Your sovereign grace. Help my countenance, conversation and conduct to reflect Your joy in and through me today, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
