Acts 4:16
“saying, “What shall we do with these men? For that a notable sign has been performed through them is evident to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.”
This must be frustrating for the Sanhedrin. They thought that they had gotten rid of Jesus, and contained the unexplainable acts of this man that claimed to be God. Even though Jesus is not there physically, these men claim to have done this miracle in His name, and by His power. The leaders are dumbfounded because of this miracle, and they do not know how they can contain this message. They cannot deny the power of God through these ordinary men, but they will not accept it for themselves.
This miracle is
Remarkable, recognizable
And undeniable
These leaders, in fear of losing power over the people, will not accept this sign pointing us, and them to Jesus. The miracles are used as signs along our journey, pointing us to the One with the power and authority, but these religious leaders will not accept it, and want to deny this sign post pointing towards Jesus as King. Father God, thank You for all the signs in my life that led me to You, and those that remind me of Your goodness and kindness. Help me to see Your work today, and let it serve as a reminder to praise You throughout my time today, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
ACTION: See it and praise God
