Acts 2:27
“For you will not abandon my soul to Hades, or let your Holy One see corruption.”

Peter again quotes Psalm 16 (written by David), explaining that thousands of years before Jesus, this prophecy gave hope and assurance to His people, that Jesus’ body would not stay in the grave or decay. This hope of David’s Messiah (Jesus) does not disappoint, like the worlds type of hope. The worlds hope has no foundation. David wrote this because our God had never left his side and never left him shaken or forsaken. Peter is defining hope for us in Jesus

Hope grows from desire, and is built on someone or something else. I want this or that, and I want this person or that thing to give it to me. When we align our mind and heart with God’s love, our desire is God, and our hope is built on the perfect unfailing love of God. Father I thank You for the hope You have built in my heart that never disappoints. Thank You for being the object and the subject of my entire life. Allow my desire to be You and You alone, to walk out and toward Your hope today, giving peace, love and hope to those around me, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

ACTION: Allow God’s Word to fuel my desire and be my hope fulfilled
