Acts 2:38
“And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Repentance is the most important word in the gospel, and the very first word in salvation. Without repentance, we cannot be saved. Some say the way to Jesus is to believe, but believing Jesus was a real person and the Son of God is not enough to enter the Kingdom of heaven.

True belief
Real repentance is a break from unbelief. Repentance is emotional, intellectual and willful. Repentance is much more than being really really sorry. Repentance can begin with remorse, but affects the heart, soul, mind and body. True repentance believes Jesus is the Son of God in our mind, submits to Jesus in our heart and will, then walks with Jesus in daily activity. True repentance impacts every area of who we are so that we fall more in love with Jesus, His Word and His way. Repentance defines us as followers of Jesus on day one, and everyday after until the day of our glorification. Father God, I know that for me to repent, You never relented. You chased me down, and continually revealed Your love for me over and over again. Thank You for relentlessly pursuing my repentance and helping me see my error, my sin, and turned me from my wicked way by the very power of heaven. Help me to stay on this path of repentance every moment of each day, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
