Acts 2:35
“until I make your enemies your footstool.”

The first word “until” reveals some portion of time. Meaning one thing will happen, “until” something else will take place, and then something else will happen. It appears that the enemies of Jesus are winning, “until” something else happens and Jesus triumphs by the Father stepping in and making His enemies Jesus’ footstool.

There is a
Time Gap

Between what God says, and what God does, specifically in this instance, those who crucified Jesus seemingly won, but there will be a day when Jesus returns and crushes Satan under His foot. This is true in our personal lives as well. God has made promises to us, and there is a time gap between the promise made and the promise fulfilled. In this time gap, we must mind the gap. The battlefield for the believer is in our mind, so we must mind the gap with God’s Word. Father God, help me to see the time gaps between the promises You have made, and the promises fulfilled in my life quicker, help me to bring my own thoughts into full obedience under the authority of Your Word and Your Son, and walk confidently with You, while I wait for Your perfect timing, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

ACTION: Bring all my thoughts captive to the obedience of Jesus
