“Walk by this rule” what rule? That salvation comes by grace (From God) through faith (that we must walk in). This word “walk” portrays a picture of walking a strait line on a tight rope, not turning to the left or the right. This is not difficult, because we are following in the footsteps of our Savior, stepping where He steps in rhythm with Him. When we live our life like this, we experience true peace, and begin to understand true mercy.

Peace and Mercy are
From the path of
Righteousness
Walked by faith alone

This is not by sight, or by my might, or with my own experience or education. This is forged by faith alone, one step at a time. “This Rule” is a remark from Paul against all other rules that people try and make this life about. Salvation come by grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ. Every single step we take in line with God, comes by grace and through faith alone in Jesus. Father God, thank You for taking steps and inviting me to walk with You. Allow me to walk by faith, receiving mercy and peace, then give peace and mercy to everyone around me all day long, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
