Acts 7:35
““This Moses, whom they rejected, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’—this man God sent as both ruler and redeemer by the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush.”
Stephen shows that God was raising up Moses to be their deliverer and redeemer at the time he killed the Egyptian, before going into the wilderness to live for forty years, but the people rejected him the first time he came to them. This is to show that they rejected Jesus the first time He came as the Redeemer, and that He will be back a second time to Redeem all people.

Too often we cannot see the goodness of God, even when it is right in front of our eyes, because we are focused on ourselves more than God. Our own will has a way of squeezing out God’s mercy and grace in the moment of affliction. Father God, help me to see through the physical into the eternal, to see Your hand of goodness, and the ransom You have paid as my Redeemer for eternal life, and each step of the way with You. You have paid the price for my salvation, and for each hurdle along the way. Allow me to put aside selfish gain, and gain more of You today, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
