Acts 7:56
“And he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.””
Thirteen times we see the posture of our risen Lord in heaven seated at the right hand of the Father. Here and only here we see that Jesus has risen from His seat and is standing at the right hand of God. It is as if Jesus has seen Stephen and his character, Jesus has heard the lies hurled at Stephen, and Jesus is caring for Stephen in his last moments alive on earth.
When we confess
Christ before men
Christ confesses His
Servants before
The Father
Luke does not tell us, but it is as of Jesus stands up to welcome His faithful servant home, to tell him well done good and faithful servant. Father God give me strength to live this life for You, to suffer bravely, to pray heartily and to die blessedly. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
