Acts 7:44
““Our fathers had the tent of witness in the wilderness, just as he who spoke to Moses directed him to make it, according to the pattern that he had seen.”
Stephen speaking of this “tent” of witness, is reminding them of this tabernacle that was built and then taken down, and rebuilt every time God’s people moved. It was temporary, mobile, and most importantly it was God’s plan. This “tent” was built just after God set Israel free from the slavery in Egypt and served as a reminder to these freed people of God’s Presence, and that He is with them wherever they went. (For 487 years)
This was to remind
God’s people that
God’s Presence
Was and Is always
With His people
The Sanhedrin (wicked spiritual leaders) are experiencing selective amnesia, just like we do when we forget the goodness of God! The original language for this “tent” was the “Tabernacle of Testimony!” This is God’s story of His presence being with us, not us searching for Him. Father God, help me to be grateful today, thankful for Your Presence, and being with You, and recognizing Your work through Your Presence in my life. Allow me to see more of You, and Your work today, and to give You praise from my heart and my mouth today, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
ACTION: See God, thank God
