Acts 4:14
“But seeing the man who was healed standing beside them, they had nothing to say in opposition.”

It is tough for the religious leaders to tell Peter and John that they are wrong and that there is no power in Jesus name, with the man who laid at the Beautiful Gate begging for years being lame in his feet and needing a handout, is now standing next to them, proclaiming the healing power of Jesus. The use of the word standing here, is intentional, and brings our minds to the image that was taking place in that court room.

Jesus has the power
To heal the lame
The healed have the
Opportunity to proclaim
Jesus’ name

We who are apprentices of Jesus have all been healed. Healed spiritually and tangibly in our lives. As the healed, we become the witnesses to the Healer, and should continue to proclaim the name of Jesus, as the One who saved us. Every lame thing that Jesus heals in us, is an opportunity to proclaim His name. Father God, thank You for sending Your Son to live, die and rise again. Help me to see all the work You have done in me, recognize Your work, and proclaim Your handiwork to those around me today, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
