Acts 3:13
“The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified his servant Jesus, whom you delivered over and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release him.”

Peter reminds them of their covenant making and covenant keeping God, who is their Heavenly Father and then wastes no time linking their God to Jesus. The goal here is to get to Jesus as God as quickly as possible. They have witnessed a miracle and want to make Peter into deity, and he uses their awe and wonder to speak Truth. These Jews have been waiting for the Messiah, so Peter tells them they denied their Messiah and delivered their God over to Pilate to be killed on a cross. That God came to them, and they did not recognize Him.

The God of Abraham
Is the
God of the Gospel

Peter makes it clear that he did not do this miracle, but that God through him healed this man. Jesus in and through him healed this crippled man, screaming softly, that Jesus is still alive, and had the power to heal crippled feet and crippled hearts. Father God, You are the same yesterday, today and forever. You have been healing hearts and setting minds free for thousands of years, and continue to do this through Your people. Help me to be sensitive to Your work today, and join You on Your mission with each step and breath I take today, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
