Acts 2:25
“For David says concerning him, “‘I saw the Lord always before me, for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken;”
Peter has just declared that God raised Jesus from the dead! We must remember who Peter is talking to. These are Jewish people who have large pieces of the Old Testament memorized, so Peter quotes the OT to them, specifically Psalm 16. Peter said the grave could not hold Jesus, now Peter is showing prophecy from the OT that spoke this thousands of years earlier.
The purpose of
Peter preaching
Is not something pithy
But perfect clarity
On previous prophecy
Too often we are desiring something new, and something to tickle our ear, when in reality God has already spoken, so all we need is clarity and obedience, not more head knowledge. Father God, thank You for this reminder this week, and this morning. Help me to seek You, who You are, and what You have already spoke into my life through Your Word. Help me to lean on Your written Word, and be led by Your Spirit today, as I put into practice what You planned out for me today, before the foundation of the world, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
ACTION: Acknowledge God’s Word, and act accordingly
