Acts 2:37
“Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?””
Peter preaches the Word of God to these people, and now they are cut to the heart. It is the Word of God that is alive, and active, piercing to the heart and cutting to the soul. This short sermon explained what happened, and then causes something to happen. As the people listen, and hear Truth, it causes them to move towards Truth. It is crucial to realize that their conviction of heart came, when they realized they crucified the Christ with their own personal sin.

Holy Word of God
Enabled by the
Holy Spirit of God
We must preach the Holy Word of God, enabled by the Holy Spirit of God to ourselves daily. This is not just for the pastor, but for all the people of God. It is the Word of God, mixed with the Spirit of God that convicts us of sin, and compels us to walk in righteousness. Father God, thank You for using Your Word and Your Spirit in my life to open my heart to Your ways, and my eyes to Your righteousness. Let me not dwell on my sin, but Your righteousness today, as I walk along side of You through Your Holy Word by the work of Your Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name, Amen.
