Acts 3:11
“While he clung to Peter and John, all the people, utterly astounded, ran together to them in the portico called Solomon’s.”
This man who was living and leaping for joy is now clinging to these two men, and it does not seem to bother Peter and John at all. In a culture where men do not run in public, this man’s leaping for joy is drawing a crowd, and it says this scene is so shocking that all the people did not walk, but they ran together at this scene and miracle! These people move from wonder to utterly astounded! The excitement is palatable, and everyone is wondering what will happen next. Next this fisherman made into a fisher of men will go to work in preaching the gospel to open minds and soften hearts.
This miracle alone
Would not save people,
but this miracle
Set the stage for
Salvation
This man leaping for Joy brought those lost in religion to a place where this former fisherman would be able to live out his calling by Jesus to spread the net of the gospel, and bring many people to salvation by grace through faith. Father God, thank You for all You are doing right now to draw people unto Yourself. Help me see the opportunities You are creating, and step in rhythm with You to bring in the net of lost people to Your Kingdom by the power of Your Spirit, within the movement of Your will, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
