Acts 7:29
“At this retort Moses fled and became an exile in the land of Midian, where he became the father of two sons.
Moses is rejected by his own people, and flees into exile. He comes to a land that is not his, and a people that he does not know. He realizes he has been rejected and is now an alien in a foreign land. He even names his first son Gershom, meaning sojourner. Moses knew he was a foreigner and not a resident and it changed the way he lived
We are not residents
Of this place
But sojourners and
Our home is heaven
This changes our perspective and our way of life. We must realize that while we are here, we are not putting down roots but living the mission of Jesus with Jesus as we pass through this life. Father God, as a sojourner passing through this life, help me to abstain from worldly pleasures that are at war within my soul, and to walk with You on mission with You and for Your cause, and advance Your name as I go, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
