Acts 2:34
“For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says, “‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand,”

Peter is not done yet, his argument from Scripture continues and now Peter moves to Psalm 110. Quoting David again, and showing that David did not ascend to heaven (remember they could see David’s grave from where they were), but that David prophesied about the One who would ascend to be at the right hand of the Father.

This is not a new
Teaching but repeating
The words of Jesus

Jesus used this same Psalm in Matthew, Mark and Luke to describe to the disciples that He was 100% man, and 100% God. The Word of God is to reveal Truth, not to shore up our traditions and preferences. The spiritual leaders of the day should of recognized this in Scripture, and recognized Jesus as the coming Messiah, but instead of seeing Jesus, and honoring Him, they tried to keep their own power and be honored by others. Father God, where do I miss Your Truth? Where do my presuppositions overrule Your Truth? Please help me to see You clearly, understand Your Word completely and live honoring You in every area of my life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
