Acts 2:46 “And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts,”
This is what happens when God is on the move in people’s hearts and minds. They were not content getting together once a week on Sunday for an hour. They desired to be in fellowship with one another worshiping together everyday. The word together above means of “One Mind.” It could be translated one soul. They had all things in common, not in a forceful communistic way, but through love for God and love for one another. This was not cold charity, or a must do, but the hand caring for the foot, and the arm protecting the leg, and the eye watching out for the heart,
This was love not law
Compassion not
Compulsion
This is how our Heavenly Father cares for us. His Spirit and grace perfect His peace in our heart, and then His Body (the church) cares for our physical needs. Father God, thank You for this picture of love, fellowship and compassion. Help me to lead this in our family and community as You continue to perfect Your Peace in my heart, allow me to take responsibility for the needs of those around me by the power of Your Spirit, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
ACTION: Help the needs of others
