Acts 2:22
““Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know—”

Jesus of Nazareth. Peter is making the point right off the bat, that they knew Jesus, he was a real person, who they knew His origin, and the fact that He was God. Jesus was fully man, and fully God. Not part of one or half and half, but 100% God and 100% man. Peter is empowered by the Holy Spirit, and being obedient to the words of Jesus, by telling these specific people in this place about Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. Jesus said to tell the world, but start here in Jerusalem with those people who saw the miracle, witnessed the signs and heard His teaching first hand.

Obedience is doing the
next
Right thing, that you
know
Is right to do

Peter does this, not in his own strength, but by relying on the power of the Holy Spirit. Peter is empowered by the Holy Spirit, and walking in the courage of the Lord. Peter is bold in telling these people about Jesus death, because many of these people were directly responsible for killing Jesus. Father God, thank You for the emboldening of my obedience through the empowerment of Your Spirit. Help me to be bold in the gospel, and empowered by Your Spirit. Give me wisdom beyond my years and courage to carry out Your plans today, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
