Acts 7:6
“And God spoke to this effect—that his offspring would be sojourners in a land belonging to others, who would enslave them and afflict them four hundred years.”

God told Abraham years before it took place that his descendants would become slaves in Egypt, but never become citizens of that land. The point is that there was no temple in Egypt for them to worship, and that God did not abandon them. This did not change the fact that they were still God’s people, and that He never left them, or abandoned them.

They were mistreated
But not forgotten

Our God’s name is Immanuel (God with us) He will never leave you or abandon us. God always keeps His covenant that He makes with His people, and even though you may be mistreated, He is with You, and fights for you. Father God, thank You for Your promise, and for always keeping Your promises, and always being with me. Compel me to remember You are with me today, as I walk through this day, so that You change my responses to rebuke, keep me humble in turmoil, and faithful in relationships, where I live, work and play, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

ACTION: Be reminded of God with me (every hour on the hour)
