Acts 7:41
“And they made a calf in those days, and offered a sacrifice to the idol and were rejoicing in the works of their hands.”

God used Moses to get Israel out of Egypt, but Moses could not get Egypt out of Israel. As Moses is on the mountain receiving the 10 commandments, Israel is below breaking the first two, of them, and making for themselves an idol to worship. While in Egypt, God’s people slowly started to compromise, and 100 compromises later, they were worshiping idols. MORE OVER, they worshiped the work of their own hands! This is the inditement against these Jewish leaders, who are wanting to worship in the temple, and in some ways worship the temple itself, “rejoicing in the work of their hands.”

We either worship God
Or worship self

It’s that simple. When we do not worship God, in our relationships, work place, or home, we worship the work of our own hands, and rejoice in our handiwork. The question is not where does the work of God’s hand stop and my handiwork begin, but to glorify and worship God for giving me hands in the first place. Father God, I declare my dependence on You. You alone are worthy of my worship. My self, nor my hands are anything of value eternally, without Your Presence. Guide me towards this Truth today within my purpose from You, energized by You, and for You and Your glory, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
