Acts 2:31
“he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption.”
This psalm quoted above from David, who was a prophet, a priest and a king of Israel is looking by faith into the future, grabbing ahold of a future Truth and applying it to his life. Psalm 16 speaks of a resurrection, and since David did not rise physically, it is not about him, but the future Messiah, specifically Jesus from Nazareth. But at that time, thousands of years before Jesus, David puts his hope, faith and trust in Jesus. Peter’s logic to these people is air tight.
An eternal Kingdom
Demands
An eternal King
Not a dead one. Jesus is fully alive, David was convinced it would happen, Peter witnessed it in person, and we believe by grace through faith that it did happen. Father God, we serve a King who is fully alive! Thank You for clearly explaining this in Your Word that has been preserved perfectly for thousands of generation, and more importantly convicting my heart and mind of this today. Allow me to keep this on the forefront of my mind as I walk through today, allow Jesus being alive to inspire all I am, say and do, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
