Acts 2:4
“And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
And they were FILLED with the Holy Spirit. This language is important. Too much is made of this that is confusing for followers of Jesus. When we believe in Jesus as our personal Savior and submit our entire life to Jesus’ Lordship, then we are “baptized in the Holy Spirit” meaning the Spirit of the living God indwells us. We have ALL of the Holy Spirit at this time. THEN we are to daily be FILLED with the Spirit of God moment by moment, decision by decision. To be filled or controlled by the Spirit of God is to submit and invite The Spirit of Jesus to have reign and rule of our entire life. This is the power that we toil from and work in. We cannot do anything of eternal value without being controlled by the Spirit of God.

The Spirit of God was
Sent to fill the church
The church being people, specifically the people of God. There is one baptism, and many fillings each day. Father God, I submit my calendar and plans to You now. Fill me a fresh with Your Spirit today, allow my thoughts, feelings, actions and words to be pleasing in Your sight, my Rock and Redeemer, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
