Acts 1:16
““Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.”

As confusing as Jesus’ death on a cross was to His closest followers, Judas their friend and fellow follower of Jesus for three years, betraying Jesus and being the person responsible for His death was just as confusing to them at the time. The disciples only needed to look to the Scriptures to see that Judas was prophesied about, and that God was completely sovereign over even these events without sin. Judas was fully responsible for the decisions he made, even while fulfilling prophecy.

History really is
His Story

This is seen in two ways. One, God is completely sovereign over people and nations. Two, the Word of God is a written revelation, not a hunch or a hope so. If you want to know what God says, read the Bible. Father God, thank You for Your written Word. This is one of the greatest gifts you have given all of us. Let me never take for granted Your written Word, but stay under its authority, live by its Truth, walk by its light and rely on its accuracy. Allow Your Word to be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

ACTION: Place the Word at my feet
