Acts 7:23
““When he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brothers, the children of Israel.”

God preserved inside of Moses that he was Jewish, not actually an Egyptian prince. For forty years Moses was raised in the palace and given everything, and now seemingly out of nowhere, Moses decided to visit his fellow Jewish family. This language for “heart” is kardia in Greek, and means the control center of our being. This was not of his own doing, but God placed this deep within Moses, and at the exact right time, this thought came to the surface compelling him to act.

God is our Commander
And Chief
Who controls
all things
And compels
our hearts

Our heart is in the hand of the Lord, like rivers of water; God turns it wherever He wishes. Father God, I fully submit again to You. Control my heart, care for my soul, keep my life in Your hand. Sometimes my control center gets in the way of Your care, so keep me in line with Your will, and help me to walk with You in purpose, skill and passion where I worship, work and live, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

ACTION: Continually give control to my King
