Paul mentions Jesus name over 40 times in this short letter to the Galatians. Meaning 1/3 of the verses contain the name of Jesus. Paul was enamored with Jesus and knew his life was made new because of the cross of Christ. Between Paul and the world was the cross. That’s how we live our life, with our backs to the cross and our eyes on Jesus. The cross of Christ stands between us and this world, so we now have nothing to boast in accept Christ and the cross. To the world
The cross is an
Object of shame
To us it is an
Object of glory
The world glorifies the flesh, followers of Jesus glorify our risen Savior Jesus Christ. There are only two options at the foot of the cross. One, flee and run, or two, come and die, so Jesus is glorified. Father God, all that I have gained in this life, I count as rubbish for the sake of Christ. I count all things to be loss in view of the cross, and my Savior Jesus crucified. All is loss so that I may gain Jesus and more of Him. Allow my life to glorify You today, in my affections, attitude, attention, and every action, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
ACTION: Crucify the flesh, come near the cross
