Acts 2:44
“And all who believed were together and had all things in common.”

All those who “believed.” This language and what we see here in this short verse is so important. Here in our culture, there are many who say they “believe” but it changes nearly nothing in their life. To believe Jesus was a real person does not save you. To believe that Jesus was the Son of God, does not save you. To mentally believe something and to place 100% of my trust in someone are two different realities. Genuine belief in Jesus that leads to salvation includes

The consent in
One’s mind and
The act of one’s
Heart and will

To believe in Jesus is to agree with Jesus, that I am a sinner in need of saving, and that He paid the penalty for my sin. True belief is full submission to Jesus and His plan for my personal life. Father God, thank You for coming to me, changing my mind about this life, regenerating my heart and replacing my will for Your will. Hallowed be Your name in my life, Your will be done in my mind as it is in heaven, allow Your will to be done in my heart as it is in heaven, and Your will be done in my entire life as it is in heaven, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
