Acts 3:2
“And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple that is called the Beautiful Gate to ask alms of those entering the temple.”

Peter and John are on their way to pray at the three o’clock hour in the temple. They would have know this man, (and most likely others) would be there begging for a penny. They would have passed by him daily as they prayed daily in this temple while they were in this town.

When the LIFE of Jesus
Is not LIVED out through
The LIVES of His followers,
the poor Multiply

This was so at that time, in Judea. The spirit of godliness was squelched by people acting godly in public so people thought they were more righteous than they actually were in their heart. Giving to the poor was moved outside the doors of the temple, so everyone could see you give a penny away. Father God, thank You for being generous, and giving. You alone are the giver of life, and every good and perfect gift comes from You. Help me to acknowledge Your goodness, Your gifts, and Your generosity in my life, realize the abundance of it, and give good gifts, away freely to others all day long, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

ACTION: Pause each hour on the hour and recognize God’s generosity in my life, and decide who to give a good gift to each hour
