I am Pastor Shannon Popp, and I am married to my beautiful wife Ginger; we have two daughters and a son. I am a native to Colorado and love serving God in the area He planted our family 140 years ago. As someone who preaches to both the studious Christian, and those seeking Jesus, I strive to bring the accuracies of God’s Word on the weekend into our weekly realities by using metaphors and stories that create readiness that nudge people to a receptive insight and the transforming truth of the Gospel.
My Hope for South Holly is that we would be a family of men and women who know and worship the One True Triune God rightly, that we would walk hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder together and view this world through the eyes of our Creator, and work together on mission with Jesus Christ in compassion, mercy and grace to carry one another’s burdens and reach lost people in our city.
We’re Pastor Sam and Darlene Farlow and we’ve been married for 44 years – during which God has blessed us with 4 grown children and 14 grandchildren. We are originally from Illinois but have enjoyed the ministry of planting churches and restoring struggling churches in 4 states in the Western USA. We’ve immensely loved living in Colorado and getting connected with Coloradans since moving here a few years ago! One of my favorite pastimes is playing on an over-50 softball league each summer. Darlene works as a Special Education Paraeducator at a day school within Children’s Hospital and enjoys speaking Spanish when such opportunities arise. Our heart is to help others find the joy of life in Christ and then shepherding them in their walk with Jesus.
After over 20 years in the secular workforce, God called me, Pastor Rod Henderson and my wife, Susan, to serve as ABWE missionaries, first in Portugal from 2009 to 2018, and then from 2018 to the present, in Colorado. I am serving on the pastoral staff at South Holly and Susan is the Executive Administrator. We have been married for 32 years, are originally from Michigan, and have 3 grown children and 1 grandchild. My training as an engineer and project manager have greatly helped in ministries in Portugal and in Colorado. We both have a great love for people and we count it a privilege to serve full-time at South Holly.
